The church’s mission in the world involves a message, and it’s the church’s job to teach that message effectively.

The gospel message can be summed up in a few simple phrases: Jesus, the son of God, was crucified for our sins, he died and was buried, and he arose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures.  He will grant us the gift of eternal life if we confess our sins and trust in him as our savior.

There are volumes of meaning behind these simple words. It’s the church’s responsibility to unpack these volumes, to spread the good news of salvation, and to teach a Biblical worldview that will enable Christians to live godly lives.

I’ll look at Paul’s apostolic mission in Romans 15 and Colossians 1 in this video, and I’ll talk about the ways in which today’s church shares in that mission. I hope you’ll find this talk helpful as you seek to live “in the world, but not of the world.”
